Armed Forces Day - Saturday 29th June 2024
Armed Forces Day will be marked in Northampton with musical entertainment, speeches and information stands at All Saints' Church Piazza on Saturday, 29th June 10am-2pm.
Event Programme
10am - Event opens with NLive Radio
10.30am - Stage opens with speeches from the Mayor of Northampton, Cllr Paul Joyce and the Lord-Lieutenant of Northamptonshire.
Followed by an interview with David Parish from the Northamptonshire Yeomanry and the Army Benevolent Fund, speaking about the yeomanry's role in the D-Day landings and the work of the benevolent fund.
10.45am - Performance from the 5F Squadron RAF Air Cadet's Band
10.15am - Interview with a representative from the Royal British Legion
11.30am - Performance from The Starlight Sisters, singing songs from the 1940s, 50s and 60s
12.15pm - Interview with veteran Tony Mallard
12.30pm - Performance from A Company Leicestershire, Northamptonshire and Rutland Army Cadet Corps of Drums
1pm - Interview with a representative from the Royal British Legion
1.15pm - Performance from The Starlight Sisters, singing songs from the 1940s, 50s and 60s
2pm - Event closes
